It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her bow and seven global championships have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
